About Dutton Street Auto Repair

Auto repair in the United States is split between independent shops, dealership service departments and national chains. Independents handle most routine work (oil changes, brakes, tune-ups, check-engine diagnostics) at lower labor rates and often specialize in one make or in imports; dealers keep factory tools, software and warranty authority; chains sell speed and standard pricing on maintenance items. Most shops charge a diagnostic fee, credited toward the repair if you go ahead, and quote parts and labor separately. Certification matters: look for ASE-certified technicians and, in many states, a state repair license posted at the counter. Written estimates are required by law in most states before work begins, and you are entitled to your old parts if you ask.

I highly recommend Dutton Street Auto Repair! In a world where it is hard to find honest people with good communication, the owner here is a breath of fresh air. Nahn the owner is excellent, super nice, fair, and very personable. He did a fantastic job on my brakes, kept me updated the whole time, and definitely saved me money and gave me advice on the future maintenance of my vehicle. It is rare to find a mechanic you can truly trust, but I felt completely safe here. I will definitely be back! Thank you! :)

I've been coming to Nhan for 5 years and he is the ONLY reason I was able to keep my car running through grad school. He's extremely kind and always fair in his pricing. He will give you a detailed explanation as well as multiple pictures of the issue/repair so that you understand exactly what you're paying for. He will even text me a few days after a repair to make sure everything is running correctly. I send all my friends to Nhan!!

Nhan is a great honest mechanic. I came in with a suspension issue, he fixed it quickly for a fair price and mentioned a couple small issues on the car honestly without trying to haggle me in for more work. I had a question about the service a couple days later and he got me in quick, showed me all his work with the car on the lift and let me know I just needed a balancing for the wheel he worked on. Its hard to find an honest mechanic, I will be trusting Dutton Auto Repair going forward and giving him a recommendation!

Nhan is really wonderful! He is very attentive to detail and got my rear brakes done (rotors&pads) for a very reasonable price with included warranty. He also went above and beyond and picked me up after he did the job so I wouldn’t have to walk in the cold wintry weather! I was trying to save on not getting an uber. I felt so safe and understood. He makes you feel like you’ve known him always. He is very transparent, honest, fast, efficient and informative. He gave me good advice on how to maintain my car brakes so as to avoid future possible costs that other shops fail to mention. So kind and genuine human being. In this economy and overall state of human morality he is a breath of fresh air. HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend and have already recommended him to others and will continue to do so. Thank you Nhan!

Nhan is a very kind and honest man. I brought my car in because the heater was stuck on one setting. I don’t know much about cars, but he took the time to clearly explain the problem to me. He kept me updated on what was wrong and how he was fixing it throughout the process. The price was very affordable, and when everything was finished, he even gave me helpful tips on how to prevent it from happening again. I truly appreciate his professionalism and highly recommend his services!
